Cosmetic Dentistry
The term “cosmetic dentistry” refers to a group of treatment options designed to enhance the attractiveness of your smile. These options include Snap on Smile, crowns, veneers, bonding with tooth colored filling material, tooth straightening, and bleaching. The last two options are covered elsewhere in the website.
Veneers
Veneers are tooth colored pieces of porcelain that resemble fingernails. They require minimal tooth preparation, no anesthetic, and a simple impression. After they are cemented in place, they are durable and a huge esthetic improvement. Veneers can be used to correct crooked teeth, spacing, and shade problems. They are not appropriate for weakened teeth with large fillings which would be restored more effectively with a crown.
At Zoerhof dentistry, we have been placing veneers since 1990. We have been placing Lumineers by DenMat for the last 15 years.

Snap on Smile
Another DenMat innovation is Snap on Smile. This is an amazing new removable prosthetic option that can totally redo a patient’s smile and replace missing teeth at the same time for a very reasonable investment. It requires no tooth preparation and is covered by most dental insurance policies. An example of a recent Snap on Smile case can be viewed on the website.

Crowns
Crowns are placed on teeth that have been weakened by tooth decay and large fillings. Crowns are extremely strong and, like Lumineers, can be made in a number of shade variations.
White Fillings / Bonding
At Zoerhof dentistry, we have been placing only white fillings for the last 20 years (in Europe, silver fillings have not been legal for years). White fillings are chemically “bonded” to the tooth, which actually strengthens the tooth. White filling material (which comes in various shades to match a patient’s teeth) is bonded to front teeth and can be used to close spaces and mask discolorations.
